Sound is measured in units called decibels, dB, intensity, or loudness; and also measured in Hertz, Hz, frequency, or pitch.
Hearing loss definitions:
1. Slight (0 to 25 dB)
2. Mild (26-40 dB)
3. Moderate (41 to 70 dB)
4. Severe (71 to 90 dB)
5. Profound (90 dB and greater)
Types of Hearing Loss
1. conductive: loss happens when the sound is going into the ear and is somehow blocked by problems in the ear canal or middle ear.
2. Sensory-neural: loss involves the cochlea or the auditory nerve
