For People Who Are Deaf or Have Hearing Disabilities
•Include visual props and cues.
•Face people when you are talking.
•Invite people to feel vibrations.
•Write out words related to activity, instructions, post large enough for everyone to see.
•Avoid dimming lights that might inhibit the use of vision.

Classroom strategies for deaf or hearing impaired
Clasroom seating:
1. If possible, seats student in a horseshoe formation.
2. Teacher should sit rather than stand so students can lip read
3. First "do" then "talk"
Emergencies:
1. Make sure students are aware of fire drill procedures and room hazards ( paper cutter, kiln, etc.)
